Ingredients
  

  • 1 pack of square-cut hash browns without peppers
  • 2 tablespoons of cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of taco seasoning or a full packet if desired
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Nacho cheese sauce
  • Sour cream
  • Optional: Chopped green onions or chives

Instructions
 

  • Take the hash browns out of the freezer and let them thaw completely before using. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Lightly spray the foil with oil to prevent sticking.
  • In a large bowl, mix the thawed hash browns with 2 tablespoons of cooking oil, ensuring the pieces are evenly coated.
  • In a small bowl, combine: 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon (or a packet) of taco seasoning, Add salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle this mixture over the hash browns and stir until they are evenly coated with the seasoning.
  • Spread the coated potatoes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Avoid overcrowding for even cooking.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, then stir or flip the potatoes. Return them to the oven and bake for another 20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  • Once baked, remove the potatoes from the oven and sprinkle with a pinch of salt if needed. Warm up the nacho cheese sauce and drizzle it generously over the potatoes.
  • Add a dollop of sour cream and sprinkle with chopped green onions or chives for garnish.

Notes

To store, place leftover Taco Bell potatoes in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. To reheat, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C), spread the potatoes on a baking sheet, and bake for 10–12 minutes until crispy. Alternatively, use an air fryer for 5–7 minutes. Avoid microwaving to maintain their crispiness.
